Our Medical Team
The medical team is has two components; radiologists who interpret/read your scan and technologists who complete the imaging. They work closely to insure that your report is comprehensive and returned to your physician within 24-48 hours.
Dr. Engelstad is a radiologist/nuclear physician and shareholder & service provider in Bay Imaging Consultants Medical Group. Within Bay Imaging, he is Chief of the Nuclear Medicine Subspecialty Group and the Chairman of the Eastern Division. Prior to joining Bay Imaging, he served as Chief of Nuclear Medicine, Nuclear Medicine Residency Program Director, Associate Professor and Vice-Chairman in the Department of Radiology, as well as Chairman of the Committee on Human Research at the University of California San Francisco. Dr. Engelstad has published extensively, with approximately 72 publications to his credit.
Calvin is a licensed Radiologic Nuclear Medicine Technologist, prior to joining Bayside Imaging, he worked at Highland Hospital in Oakland as a technologist and interpreter. Calvin, speaks Cantonese, Mandarin and Vietnamese and worked with physicians to better communicate medical imaging procedures with non English speaking patients. He also works for California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, as a CT Technologist. Calvin enjoys continued growth and education with advanced imaging technologies.
Steve has been working as a Radiologic and Nuclear Medicine technologist for over 30 years. He attended Eastern Washington University, CCAF, Bethesda Naval Academy and Midwestern State University, which he credits for his confidence and expertise. In addition, Steve spent 10 years in the United States Air Force. Most recently Steve has been part of California Imaging and Treatment Center and prior to that at John Muir Concord Campus as a Multi-modality Technologist and Supervisor. Steve has worked with several noted physicians and technologists during his career.
Nick attended Old Dominion University in Virginia and obtained Bachelor's degrees in Biology and Nuclear Medicine. Nick has witnessed the evolution of PET/CT technology during his 12 years as a technologist. He holds advanced certificates in PET, Computed Tomography (CT), and Nuclear Cardiology.
